Many of you have heard that the MLS Foundation is promoting the Great Lakes Scrip Program and would like to know a little more about it. “Scrip” is an easy to use, fund-raising tool. Retailers offer gift cards and online discount certificates that are purchased through the scrip website and a percentage of each purchase is given to the MLS Foundation.  It’s that simple! While many people think of gift cards only for that “hard-to-buy-for” person on your Christmas list, consider using them for your regular shopping trips. There are hundreds of stores to choose from and scrip can be used for just about any household purchase including food, clothing, entertainment, gasoline and even dining out. The best part is, you can “re-load” many cards for stores you frequent and continue shopping for your regular purchases while raising money for MLS at the same time! How it works: Go to shopwithscrip.com and enroll with code L5763LD131872. Begin shopping for your gift cards or ScripNow! eCards. You can browse by category or type in specific retailers to find what you’re looking for; there is also a printable list available. Complete Retailer List If you choose a physical gift card, the order will be directed to the MLS Foundation to put a bulk order through. You can pay online with PrestoPay or you can pay by check or cash (in person or mailed). It is important to note that all cards orders must be prepaid. Because the Foundation will be paying shipping for this option, we will post specific dates on the Foundation website when orders will be sent in. When the cards come in, they are available for pick-up at the office. Another option to have immediate access to savings is to order ScriptNow! eCards. These electronic certificates are ordered online and will be sent to you through your email account within minutes of paying online. There is also a convenient option to select which sends an eCard as a gift. They can be sent to anyone who has an email account and you can choose to send immediately or on any specific date up to a year of purchase. User's Guide There is also an option for our friends who do not shop online or have computer access. Simply stop by the Foundation office and pick up an order form and pay for your cards with cash or personal check. We will put the order through with our bulk card order and inform you when they come in. Continue the fund-raising: Once you’ve become a “Scrip” shopper, consider re-loading the cards you have purchased with scrip and use them for everyday purchases on a regular basis. There is no cost for this option and it’s an easy way to continue raising funds for MLS. This option is only available online. We are still learning what timeframes work best for both you and us.
